Simon, founder of BAJOUK began his career in the hospitality industry where he discovered the job of Hotel Concierge. From the very moment he heard that such a carree existed, he knew that being a concierge was what he wanted to do. He was fascinated by this character who had the power to make all the guests happy and to orchestrate the impossible to meet the demands of the guests.
WHAT IS AN EXPERIENCE WITHOUT THE HUMAN EMOTIONAL CONNECTION?
During 15 years, he learned the rules of customer service from Montreal's most prestigious hotels. Through his role as a Concierge, he studied the interactions of all hotel actors with their clients and discovered a passion for analyzing behaviors and personalizing guest’s experiences. He also developed a large network of relationships through his own city and internationally. His commitment to the profession earned him the title of Les Clefs d’Or Concierge , an elite international association of concierges noted for its devotion to personalized service.
Until one day, where one of his loyal guests challenged him to pass on his knowledge in a completely new sector: Events. Soon after, he was hired to become the Participant Experience Director for C2 MTL, a creativity and commerce conference founded by Cirque du Soleil and worldwide agency Sid Lee.
During his years at C2 MTL working at understanding participants' journeys in events
Simon met Anne-Marie, an event logistic manager, who became his co-founding partner a few years later
The two of them had an undeniable complementarity. Simon was the guardian of the quality of the service due to his tactfulness in handling all types of guests and his experience as a concierge, and Anne-Marie had the strategic mind to build the accompaniment programs, the structure of the projects and manage the operations during the events.
Coming from the field of communications and marketing agencies, Anne-Marie has witnessed the importance of investing in the customer experience to ensure the effectiveness of marketing efforts. She has a strong background in logistics management and team coaching, particularly in the event industry. When she met Simon, she immediately understood the potential of transposing the concept of a concierge service into the event industry.
